Al. Neyer, Inc. professionals achieve LEED accreditation

Cincinnati, Ohio – Four Al. Neyer, Inc. professionals recently have earned the designation of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by the United States Green Building Council. The LEED Green Building rating system is the nationally accepted rating and certification system for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

Al. Neyer is a 115-year-old Cincinnati-based commercial real estate development and design build firm focusing on mixed-use urban development and office, medical office and industrial development. It employs 82 at its downtown Cincinnati headquarters.

The four to gain LEED AP designation are:

Lew Bonadies, Vice President, Marketing;
James Christen, AIA, Director of Architecture;
Sandra Tenhundfeld, Senior Design Associate;
Patrick Moore, AIA, Director of Architecture.

All four completed the required coursework and passed the LEED Professional Accreditation exam that emphasizes new construction and major renovation.

“This is an outstanding accomplishment for our team and furthers our work in providing sustainable design solutions to our corporate and municipal clients,” according to David F. Neyer, president and chief executive officer of Al. Neyer, Inc.

At Al. Neyer, Mr. Bonadies is responsible for marketing the company’s brand and projects. Mr. Christen and Mr. Moore are seasoned architects who take a variety of projects from conceptualization stage through final construction, and Ms. Tenhundfeld excels at design-build office building design.

Al. Neyer will break ground this month on a green building in Middletown, Ohio. Intended for LEED Certification, East Pointe Building 200 is a two-story, 50,000-square-foot corporate office building at the Interstate 75 and State Route 122 interchange. Al. Neyer’s Design-Build Group is completing a LEED Commercial Interiors tenant buildout for architecture firm SHP Leading Design at Neyer’s Linden Pointe on the Lateral development in Norwood, Ohio. SHP’s new 25,000-square-foot space features recycled materials in carpeting and furniture and occupancy sensors that reduce energy use.
