Mayor Mark Mallory and City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr. headline March 9 ceremony that features dunnhumbyUSA CEO Simon Hay starting demo work on site Renovation of 150,000-sf 1920s-era building into state of the art workspace; retains 300 dunnhumbyUSA employees downtown; firm expects to create 150 new jobs EVENT: March 9, 2009 DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI – Mayor Mark Mallory and City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr. welcomed city officials and business and economic development leaders downtown March 9 at 10 a.m. to mark the official construction commencement of the restoration of 444 West Third Street from a vacant warehouse into the new headquarters for dunnhumbyUSA, an international leader in building sales and brand value for consumer goods and retail companies. The ceremony also recognized the commitment of dunnhumbyUSA as the project’s redevelopment catalyst as well as the public commitment of the City of Cincinnati in the form of tax credits and property tax abatement on the improvements for a 12-year period and the contribution of a maintenance facility on the site that will be razed to make room for employee parking.

The Offices at 444 West Third Street | The Mayor, City Manager, development and design partners and dunnhumbyUSA CEO Simon Hay spoke at a unique ceremony at 10 a.m. outside of the 444 West Third Street building, during which Mr. Hay drove construction equipment that began the demolition of the 10,000-square-foot City maintenance facility that exists on the site. It is being razed to provide employee parking. About 60 are expected to attend. Mayor Mallory remarked about the importance of partnership to the momentum of development projects.
“This partnership shows that Cincinnati, Ohio, is a good place for business growth and the City is glad dunnhumbyUSA has chosen to expand here,” said City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr.
“444 West Third Street represents another exciting investment in downtown Cincinnati for Al. Neyer, Inc. and continues what our company started when we took a pioneering position in this part of downtown with the 2000 purchase and renovation of 302 West Third Street next door,” according to David F. Neyer, president and CEO of Al. Neyer, Inc. Al. Neyer is the project developer providing design-build services on the project. dunnhumbyUSA signed the lease in November 2008 to locate in the new building from its current location at 302 West Third Street.
“Al. Neyer is proud to have been able to provide a combined total of more than 200,000 square feet to dunnhumbyUSA since the company’s beginnings in 2003,” Mr. Neyer says. He says the total capital investment to renovate 444 West Third Street will exceed $17 million. The City of Cincinnati’s contribution, including the value of the maintenance facility, is significant and key to the project’s success.
